Welcome back to the blog after the Easter break. Remember we are still waiting for the anwers to Mystery Person (Game 10) and Mystery Animal (Game 2). I have left new clues for both. So now to Mystery Person (Game 11):

This woman was born in Guatemala. She is the niece of a famous doctor who committed suicide under some terrible circumstances. She has been married twice. She had two children. Her son Nicholas is still alive but her daughter died tragically. She wrote a book about her daughter.

League Leader Update

We have a new leader: Pilar on an amazing 10, Eva B, on 8, Marta on 7 and Alvar and friends on 3. Pilar has taken advantage of Eva’s Easter relaxing (though I’m not sure she’s getting that much sleep anyway) and is now the clear leader. Alvar has re-appeared and looks ready to challenge for first place.

Remember we are still waiting for the correct answers to Mystery Person (Game 10) and Mystery Animal (Game 2 ). These last two quizzes will be the last until after the holiday weekend.

Mystery Animal (Game 2)

You can find this animal in Barcelona zoo. Apparently its ancestor is from Africa but you can find them in other places around the world now. Some people are particularly proud of this animal but others, especially women I’ve met here, feel insulted when you say they have a big one. But they do, they have an enormous one and they should feel very proud.

What is the mystery animal and why do women here feel so insulted when I talk about their enormous one?

Mystery Bridge (Game 2)

This mystery bridge is made of steel, It was built over sixty years ago and had to be substantially repaired after only two years of its existence. The bridge was made famous by a French man who wrote a rather interesting but fictional story concerning the bridge. People who visit the bridge often start whistling when they see it.

Where exactly is the bridge and who is the French writer who made it so famous?

After another exciting blog week, Pilar is now joint leader with Eva B on 8 correct answers and Marta is close behind with 7 correct answers but Alvar and his freaky computer friends hope to change the leader board very soon. Mystery Object (Game 1)

This object has appeared in many Amercan movies (especially in the fifties), even though many people say this object is not what others think it is. I know they exist, however, because a long time ago I lived with a very passionate woman and often, when she got angry, I saw them (the plural of this object) very close up indeed.

What is this object and what forest in Suffolk does the tree in the picture come from?

Eva B. now has 8, Marta has 7 and Pilar has 6. Eva B. successfully guessed that Mystery City (Game 3) was Brasilia (yes- the capital of Brazil!!) Pilar very quickly realised (after the Wings album clue) that the former olympic sport was Tug of War and Marta- well Marta is just waiting for one of those moments when she correctly guesses all the answers in only ten minutes. We are still waiting for the answers to Mystery Person (Game 9) and Mystery City (Game 4). Don’t worry if you haven’t started yet, there is lots of time and lots of quizzes to go before we crown a champion..

Congratulations to Marta for succesfully guessing this mystery fruit and the Irish band of the same name. Here is their anti-war classic “Zombie”, together with lyrics.
